Seeing Red...

Recently when I look in the mirror I've been dissatisfied with my hair. It's not that I dislike the cut of it, its that the colour is a little... lack lustre. Upon realising this, I started to think about what colour I'd like it to be, and the choice came to either a darker, richer brown or a more vibrant red. I didn't want to go quite as red as I did last time, but I still wanted a distinct red tinge to my hair. So, when I traipsed around Superdrug scouring the hair colours for the perfect hue, I found this, and thought WAHEY!

Dear readers, I give you...

I absolutely can't wait to use it! Though I had to nip to Primark to buy a crap towel to use so I didn't ruin one of my nice (expensive!) ones! I got one in the sale for £4, so I was happy as Larry however!

Ta ta for now!

In Search of Long Nails...

As you probably know, I am a serial nail biter. I just can't help gnawing on my nails - it's like a nervous tick. The only way I can get around the problem of chewing them is by having false nails put on. So the other day I decided to splash my cash on some lovely long nails.

Don't they look great? I've only ever had gel nails done before, so I was a bit concerned about getting acrylics, especially as I've heard that they're worse for your nails than gel (and trust me, I don't need any more damage to my nails). However, I'm pleased with the results, and am shocked at how big a change long nails can make to your hands! My fingers look longer and more elegant! Hmm... I can see myself becoming hooked on getting them done, which doesn't bode well for my bank account, especially as I'm supposed to be saving up for a trip to Korea!

My New Michael Kors Love

As I have now got a job, I decided to treat myself to a Christmas present over the holidays, which took the form of a Michael Kors watch.

MK-8077
It is the first gold watch I have ever owned; I went off gold jewellry for quite a while, but I'm slowly coming around to liking it again. I absolutely adore it - its big, brash and masculine. At frist I didn't know whether to keep it or not because it is so masculine, but in the end the more I looked at it the more I loved it. I had to have two links taken off it because it was mahoosive, so big that I could slip it on and off my wrist without undoing it! Now it has just the right amount of looseness.

What do you guys think of it?

What's In My Bag?!

GLEE! New Lime Crime Product Sneak Peak!

Oh my gosh, trying to contain my absolute excitement at seeing this picture is IMPOSSIBLE!

Lime Crime is officially bringing out a lipgloss, just in time for Christmas! Ahh, I cannot wait! They come in a range of colours, all with a beautiful touch of my favourite thing in the world - glitter! Don't you think that the red one looks like Christmas in a lipgloss?

Dubbed Carousel Gloss, these just look delightful. I think Doe has outdone herself in terms of the packaging, I just adore it. It will be safe to say, when these come out I will be first in line.

GLASGOW!

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posting, I've just been so busy! >.<

So on saturday I went on a day trip up to Glasgow with one of my uni friends! I'd never been there before, so I was excited just to see a new city.We ended up going shopping (I'll post a haul later on) before getting something to eat and going to the cinema where we saw Tin Tin (I do actually recommend you go see it - the animation was insane! They actually looked like real people!).

After the film was finished, we ended up walking around the city. We came across this brilliant allyway that had a net of fairy lights strung up like a canopy covering it and it was just so magical. When you stood underneath it, it was so pretty, and it looked like a close up of a galaxy somewhere. The lights reflections in the windows of the buildings looked like stars, and because it had been raining there were puddles that picked up the lights reflection and made the ground look sparkly. Ahhh, it was so nice.

When we managed to tear ourselves away and carry on walking, we came across the Doctor Who police box, so we had to take a picture with it. We looked like such tourists :') We also came across a statue of a guy on a horse that is famous because at night drunk people climb on it and put a cone on the guys head. Unfortunately, it didn't have a cone on when we were there, but I will return and take a picture of the statue - if it doesn't have a cone on, I'll put one there myself! ;)

Overall, I had a really fun trip and cannot wait to go back! To finish off, I would like to say a mahoosive THANK YOU to Miranda for being my (albeit slightly ditzy) guide! <3

FOTD and a Quick Little Chat

Or should it be Face Of Last Night? This is the makeup I wore when I went out with my friends the other night and I did not know what to wear at all! We were suppost to be going to a pub for a relaxed birthday drink and then out later on to rave in some club, so I didn't want to appear to overdressed for the pub or underdressed for the club. In the end I opted for neutral eyeshadow with black eyeliner and a sprinkling of glitter along the upper lash line to dress it up.

We had a really great night, ending up in a place that has a pub downstairs and a nightclub upstairs. They were giving out free popcorn on the door, and my friend kept saying today that she thinks the people spiked the popcorn because we all were just acting crazy that night! I get embarrassed just thinking about it! *0_0*

Yes, we made willies from our popcorn cones...

I am a paedo.
I also managed to catch up with one of my other uni friends today, which was great because I didn't realise how much I missed her until we were writing rude captions for the little pictures in Miranda's (my friend we were having lunch with) Genki workbook! Haha, we are children.

Mac at LFW

Oh my gosh, I saw this and died. This is the makeup used at Vivienne Westwood's fashion show during London Fashion Week. I think it is just beautiful, so pretty and ethereal. It is decribed as

"Neo Neon Nymphs: a natural brow, opulent eyes, fiercely flushed cheeks & a pale pout, a luscious look to complement the Grande Dame of English fashion’s show."

Ahhh, l'amour! <3

New Hair!!

I went to the hairdressers the other day to get my hair cut, because it had got to the stage where the ends felt absolutely disgusting. I had to go home for the weekend to get it done though, because the prices in Preston are ridiculous! Every place I went to wanted £35 and above just for a cut and finish! I was outraged! At home I got it done for £19. Anyway, when I went in, I asked them to cut to where the hair is healthy, and this is what I walked out with....

Wahh, I feel bald! Though I thought my mum was going to self combust when I got home and showed her, she like it so much! Haha! I've gotten more used to it now, and it is so much more convenient. It also feels soooo much nicer, and has got its gloss back! I have ordered Lee Stafford's Hair Growth Treatment though, because this is the shortest hair I've ever had, and I do like long hair. I'll review it later, if you like?

In other news, I have found out that I am a veritable SPENDING MACHINE!! T^T Oh my gosh I have spent sooo much money this week! I want so many things, and my loan's just come through so whenever I check my bank balance my heart leaps with joy (even though £1,500 of it is being transferred over to my mums account ¬ ¬ ). Hmph. I need to seriously budget from now on.

On a lighter note, just thought I'd post this picture as a farewell, so you can have a bit of a giggle! I'm trying to practice Japanese poses haha! :') Until next time,

Kim Kardashian

Just came across this picture of Kim Kardashian....
How insanely beautiful does she look?! Like a goddess! Her makeup is flawless. Might try and re-create it at a later date, if you like?

When I saw her wedding pictures in OK magazine, I thought her wedding makeup was just so beautiful - exactly what you'd want on your wedding day; flattering, understated and elegant.

I wasn't the biggest fan of her ceremony wedding dress, but I loved her bridesmaids dresses, and the ruffle fishtail she wore to her reception. She has the perfect figure for that dress.

One Of The Best Casts Ever?

The cast of the upcoming film Magic Mike just seems to be getting better and better. Nom. I'd go and see it just to shamelessly oggle the actors.

Completely Fabulous T-shirts

I've just been browsing through some fashion blogs in the hopes of distracting myself from checking my email every two seconds (didn't work) when I came across this fabulous t-shirt on Style Bubble.

It totally sums up my mood right now, and is quite fun and cute. I really like it! I also think it would be a great D.I.Y project - you could add your own expletives like 'Jeanie Mac!' or 'Blast' or 'Drat' or 'Confound it!'... Hahaha the list goes on and on! I think I will try and make one of these, then post my results at a later date.
:)

1st Anniversary!

Oh wow! I just cannot believe how fast this past year has gone!! It only seems like yesterday when I first started typing the words to my first post...And now a year has passed, I've taken my A-level exams and am waiting to see what direction my life will take. Will I end up in Newcastle this year? Will I repeat my second year of college? Or will I venture out into the world and find myself a job so I can travel the world? Who knows? I'll find out tomorrow. Ahhh, either way, I'm on the verge of a big change. I promise to keep you updated throughout.

Peace (^_^)v

I love Beyonce. Independent, grounded, natural, I think she is one of the greatest role models for young girls of our time.

Stila Rave!

I went to the Trafford Center the other day and of course had to nosey around Boot's makeup aisles. All was normal, until I spotted the Stila stand. I hadn't seen their products in the UK before, so I decided to check their stuff out. Here were the fist things I picked up:-

From top to bottom:- Electric, Bora Bora, Curacao and Flash.
Oh my gosh, as soon as I opened the package my heart started thumping. They are seriously glittery and highly pigmented eyeliners. Named Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner's and priced at £14, they come in an array of colours and last forever (the ones that I swatched on my hand took forever to scrub off). The only downside there is is that the applicator is a felt tip one, which wouldn't have been my choice for this product (they always seems to be a bit messy) but I could live with it. I have serious lust for these eyeliners, and they have gone straight to the top of my wish list.

Next up, I tested the Convertible Colour Duo Lip & Cheek Cream.
From top to bottom:- Poppy, Iillium, Peony
These were lovely and creamy, with a nice level of pigmentation. Poppy was bright red in the pot, but did blend out nicely on my skin. They also felt light on, and totally unsticky (if that's a word!). They are £16, and come in a really cute pot with a handy mirror.

Finally, I decided to try the Crush Lip and Cheek Stain:-

Top to bottom:- Acai, Pomegranate, Raspberry.
The first one I picked up was Acai, and it was so bright I was quite shocked. They come with an integrated brush like some lipglosses, and I actually quite liked that. They were also more of a gel formula, which I really liked because I always find stains like Benetint a bit runny. Described on the website as "A multi-tasking lip and cheek stain that reacts to pH levels to create a perfectly personalized hue", these are definately something to look out for.

Overall, I am really loving Stila's products, and can't wait to get my hands on some when my financial situation looks a bit less dire.

Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary 24/7 Eyeliner Set

So my eyeliners have finally arrived from Debenhams, and I couldn't be more pleased with them! Before anything else, I have to say I love the packaging. They come in a box with a clear window on the front that lifts up. The box itself feels really sturdy, and is embossed with the Urban Decay 15 year anniversary symbol in a really nice pattern. Presentation then gets a big thumbs up from me!

Set in a box on a velvety black background, these pencils pop. There is a delicious selection of colours that would suit any mood/ occasion conceivable.

"Help Urban Decay celebrate their 15-year anniversary with this mouth-watering set of 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. The wide range of award winning, high-quality, waterproof shades are some of Urban Decay's best-selling and most coveted products. We included six brand new shades, and stamped all 15 with special anniversary artwork. This is a truly collectable set.

The range of shades includes lush tropical hues, deep metallics, and unusually vibrant neutrals. Favorites like Zero, Bourbon and Electric sit side-by-side with SIX brand-new shades like Asphyxia, Stray Dog and the piece de resistance: Perversion a blacker-than-Zero black. Each pencil is stamped with UD15. The whole collection (and a sharpener!) comes packaged in a silver foil box printed with our UD15 ticking pattern."

This set is also excellent value, especially as every pencil is a full sized one, and not travel sized like in some previous sets. The only thing that irks me about this set is that my Perversion is slightly smaller than any other eyeliner in the set - is it just my set or does this occur in yours if you have one?

Other than that, I am sincerely chuffed with my purchase. I will be swatching and reviewing each eyeliner by itself in posts to come, so keep an eye out!

Essential Items To Take Abroad

As I've just come back off holiday, I thought I'd do a post on the essential items you should pack in your suitcase, based off my experience. So here goes!

HAUL

So, I went on a bit of an online shopping spree before, and I'm feeling a bit guilty but very excited! I bought this lovely cream stitch pocket jumper from River Island - I saw it in the shop but walked away from it for some unknown reason. Its big, soft and cosy and will look fab off the shoulder with a belt.

I've also just bought Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner set to celebrate it's 15 year anniversary. My favourite eyeliner of all time is Stash, and as this is included in the set and I need to replace mine soon, I thought "Why not?". I'll post pictures and swatches as soon as I get it! :)

Update!

Hello my lovelies!
Me and my lovely cousin! <3
So recently things have been a bit hectic - my cousin and my uncle from America have been over to stay with us for a week, which was really fun! Also, I went to a makeup event put on by Max Factor in Boots in town the other day which was fun - I was picked to be the model and I had a makeover. The girl was lovely, and the look she gave me was fab! She did quite a smouldering smokey eye, but it was so soft and light; I'll put up a tutorial later (because I of course had to buy the eyeshadow, the mascara, the foundation... Ooops) .

I'm going away on holiday on Friday as well, and I can't wait! I will definitely post pictures when I get back ;)
As I'll be gone for two weeks (of blissful sunshine and hangovers lol!), I'll write some posts that will hopefully be published while I'm away :)
